About This Piece

Vintage Design

Beautifully painted bridal cabinet from Germany, to be exact from Franconia. The cabinet has a very rustic look and shows plenty of character. This cabinet is for its age in good condition although there are obviously some slight signs of use. Some of the moldings have been replaced, and the paint on the left side is pretty worn. The cabinet has a warmer yellow ochre painting and the door is decorated with tulips and the year 1815. The inside features shelves and coat hooks, if desired one can easily add shelves. It used to be customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was afterwards placed on the farm in a showroom that was only rarely used for high visits or special occasions. Thus, a beautiful and decorative piece of history. 182cm high, 108cm wide, 50cm deep.
