Painted Bridal Cabinet

Original painted bridal cupboard made of pine dating from around 1800/1850. This cupboard has a simple design but is beautifully painted in white, yellow and light blue tones with floral decorations. The old paint is heavily worn, which gives the whole a very characteristic appearance. The doors depict panels with flowers and amphorae. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. All our bridal wardrobes have been checked and, if necessary, restored, although the characteristic appearance of these examples has been retained. This specimen comes from South-East Germany. 172cm high, 133cm wide, 51cm deep.
