About This Piece

An expressive and beautifully textured mid-century still life oil composition, executed in oil onto board. The painting revolves around a brown tabletop setting that features a plate of 3 fruit, a red mug, and a tray. The artist has thoughtfully used a warm palette of reds and yellows with hints of green and white. Through the masterful use of the colour gradient technique employing contrasting shades, as well as expressive and textured brushstrokes, the three-dimensional qualities of the objects are enhanced and the overall composition is full of character. This oil on board is housed in a complementary wide profiled gilt frame The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs but this does not detract from the overall appearance.
