About This Piece

Vintage Design

Special antique wedding chest, dating from around 1900. The chest is a beautiful example of German folk art that found its way to Romania at the time. The chest is made of pine wood and painted in a warm green base color that is richly decorated with hand-painted floral motifs. The paint layer has worn naturally over the years, giving the chest an authentic, lived-in and characteristic look.

The chest has been carefully checked and restored, including the replacement of the hinges. Old, sporadic woodworm traces have been checked and treated.

An exceptionally decorative item for lovers of rustic furniture, folk art, or unique interior accents.
