Eli Chissick

Tel Aviv-based designer Eli Chissick was born in London in 1973, and moved to Israel as a child in 1979. He studied product design at the Holon Institute of Technology, and graduated with a Bachelors degree in 2003. After school, he worked out of an in-home studio; in 2012, he opened a separate workshop and studio on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.

Chissick’s works have been exhibited in the United States, Europe, and Israel, and he has won multiple design awards, including the 2008 Opus Design Award. Notable projects include, among others, his 2011 Salarium series, a stainless steel set of saltshakers inspired by the evolution of currency and historical designs for coinage; as well as Wood-con-fusion (2012), a series of intricate wooden furniture pieces masterfully composed of wood scraps salvaged from carpentry studio floors.

Chissick lives and works in Tel Aviv.
